Stamping with Washi Tape? You've got to be joking!

Crafty Collaborations Water Colour Technique Blog Hop with Forever Blossoms

Hello there and in case you haven't come across me before, my name is Donna Lester and I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator from the UK.

Today, I'm taking part in the Crafty Collaborations blog hop and the theme for today is Water Colour Technique.  Now, this was totally up for interpretation and as I've not done Water Colouring before, I went simple and decided to stamp on top of a single colour wash.

So I started with a Basic White card base which measured 8" x 6" and I scored on the long side at 4".

The Basic Black layer measures 5¾" x 3¾"

Using a piece of 100 Fluid Water Colour paper measuring 5½" x 3½" and an Aqua Painter, I dropped water onto the paper and brushed it all over.

I dabbed a small stamp block into Gorgeous Grape ink and picked up the ink with the aqua painter and brushed it over the paper.  I tried not to get an even colour and aimed to get darker patches on the paper.  I also didn't want to cover the whole of the paper.

I had to be patient and let this completely dry before the next step.  As I'm not very patient, I got out the heat tool and dried off the paper using that,

Using the Forever Blossoms stamp set, I used the large stamp, inked it up in Memento ink and stamped it onto my colour wash.

Finally, using the 'All of Me Loves All of You' sentiment, I stamped this in black onto white card, cut round it and stuck it onto some slightly bigger black card stock with mini stampin' dimensionals and stuck this to the front of the card.

Apart from waiting for the ink to dry, this was quite a quick project.  I'd like to try it again and next time use more than one colour.

I've left links to all the products I've used but in the meantime stop and look at what the other collaborators have made by clicking on their links below

Thanks ever so much for visiting - I look forward to seeing you soon
