Stamping with Washi Tape? You've got to be joking!

Kylie's International Blog - A Card to Say Thank You

So today I'm taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Hop and the theme was 'Thank You'.  This is the card I came up with

Below are details of how I made this but if you really like this project, please vote for me at:

I've chucked everything but the kitchen sink into this project but here's a bit of a run through of what I've used:

I've used whisper white cardstock for the main card - this is a double sided step card and I researched the measurements online.  Sabrina Radock has a lovely blogpost explaining how the double sided step card is put together.

Take a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 7" x 10".  On the short side, place the left hand side of the card at 4¾".  Cut from the 1" mark on your ruler to the 8½" mark.  Move your card along to the 2¼" mark and do the same: cutting from 1" to 8½"

On the long side, score between the cut lines at 1", 2", 3½", 7½" and at 8½".  Score from top to bottom at 5"

The score lines, starting from the front should be folded as:

Mountain
Valley
Mountain
Valley
Mountain

Don't fold the score line at 8½"

Then its time to decorate.  When I first looked at the card after I cut and folded it, I knew I wanted to put bunting on it.

I used In Good Taste DSP for the 'wall' pieces.  The measurements of these are:

2 pieces measuring 4⅞" x 2⅛"
1 piece measuring 2⅜" x 2⅜"
1 piece measuring 2⅜" x 1⅜

I used scraps of brightly coloured DSP for the bunting and this was attached to Braided Linen Trim with mini glue dots and attached to the card with flowers made from the Small Bloom Punch

I used the Heart Duo punch and punched out two hearts, one in yellow dsp and other in whisper white card and I stamped 'Thanks' from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set in Magenta Madness.

I fussy cut the dog image from Playful Pets DSP and stuck this to one side of the card with mini stampin' dimensionals.

I used the Basket of Blooms stamp set to and stamped the plant pot in Early Espresso ink onto Early Espresso cardstock.  The leaves come from some scrap green dsp and punched from the sprig punch

And finally, I stamped 'Thank You So Very Much' from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Basic Grey onto some Playful Pets DSP and finished the edges off with the Triple Banner punch.

I'd love to recreate this project and make a YouTube video - watch this space .......

See you all soon
