A Pop Up Card For A Team Retreat

This weekend's theme for share it on a Sunday is creators choice.  Today I'm attending a craft retreat in Peterborough and I volunteered to do a make and take.  I chose a project that's fairly simple to make but packs a punch. The front of the card is a simple mat and layer with a sentiment but the inside of the card has a pop-up mechanism.

I've got a simple tent fold card base with a layer of card and another layer of DSP and I've added a simple sentiment to the front

To create the Pop-Up mechanism in the middle start with a piece of DSP measuring 5 3/4" by 5 3/4". On the side that you want to see CP create a mountain fold in one diagonal direction and two valley folds on both horizontals

Push all the the sides into the direction where they want to fold and you'll end up with this
Take a piece of white card measuring 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and stamp your sentiment.  Stick this measurements to the inside of the card by adding glue to the back of the pop-up mechanism and sticking it inside the card just a little peace under the Fold line and then add glue to the top of the pop-up mechanism close the card and press it down for a few seconds

Here are a selection of cards that were made by why the other crafters at the retreat

I hope you've liked these projects and it gives you some inspiration to make some yourself

See you soon
