The theme for today's Crafty Collaborations blog hop is Zero Waste. Now I can be a wasteful crafter - I read a lot about crafter who save little bits and pieces of card and paper 'just in case' they can use it. I tend not to be like that because, to be honest, I can't be bothered nor find the space. That can be wasteful so for today's two projects I'm scrapbusting and using up those little bits and pieces and creating something out of them.
My first project is this slimfold card. I've got a white card base and Soft Succulent card layer but added some scrap of Evening Evergreen and Artfully Composed designer series paper for this triptych effect. My sentiment comes from Flowing Flowers stamp set and is stamped in Evening Evergreen.
I've gathered scraps (which I would normally throw away)
and cut them into half inch strips
on a piece of white card, I've put a small rectangle at the bottom which will be the trunk of my tree
I've cut small V shapes into each end of my strips and cut the length of each strip to fit the card. I've only put glue on the centre of each strip (you'll see why in a minute)
I've built up the tree
and then curled up the edges of some of the strips to add dimension (that's why we only glue the centre)
My sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen (I will never tire of this colour) and my card is layered onto Polished Pink cardstock before being added to a white cardbase.
I hope you like this - it certainly meant I was chucking less in the bin!
